How we ground everything

Every belief described on ChurchOS comes from the denomination’s own official sources and is attributed to the church that holds it. We prefer to paraphrase official texts in plain language and cite the reference, and we quote directly only where the exact words matter. This page lists the acknowledgements those texts require and every major source the site rests on.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

Our Catholic pages rest on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the official book that sets out what the Catholic Church believes. We paraphrase it and cite paragraph numbers in brackets, like (CCC 1210), so you can check every claim against the original text.

Where the Catechism is quoted directly, the excerpts follow the usage guidelines of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and carry the notice below, reproduced exactly as the publisher requires, with its original punctuation preserved:

The Roman Missal

The short responses of the Mass quoted on our Mass page come from the official English translation of the Roman Missal, the book that contains the words of the Mass, and carry this acknowledgement:
